It's December! Not only does that mean the holidays are officially here and we can start making way for the new year.

It's also hosts the birthday oficonic singer and songwriter Taylor Swift — Dec. 13.

Swift is considered fearless when it comes to the number 13, despite many believing the number issynonymous withbad luck. The superstition has evolved over time and across cultures to even create a feared date on the calendar, Friday the 13th.

So, is Swift's 34th birthday on Friday the 13th this year?

Nope, her birthday is just on a Wednesday. However, next year is whole different story!

How many Friday the 13ths are in 2024? When are they?

The first of the two comes onSeptember 13, 2024, exactly 13 weeks before the second Friday the 13th in December 2024. A.K.A Swift's birthday.

How old will Taylor Swift turn on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024?

Swift will be turning 35-years-old when her spooky Friday the 13th birthday rolls around next year.

When will Swift's birthday fall on Friday the 13th again?

She will celebrate her 52nd (which is also divisible by 13) in 2041.

Why is Friday the 13th seen an unlucky day?

A date that inspired an entire movie franchise and created phobia for many (paraskevidekatriaphobia for those curious). Why is Friday the 13th an unlucky date?

First off, 13 is considered an unlucky number mainly in Western culture. It also has a name to describe the irrational dread of the date: triskaidekaphobia, a fear of the number 13. The History Channel says that researchers estimate that as many as 10% of the U.S. population has a fear of the number 13.

But what makes it so unlucky? According to University of South Carolina Professor Emeritus of Sociology Barry Markovsky, the explanation isn't exactly clear. It could have to do with the juxtaposition of "Lucky 12:" the number of months in the year, gods on Olympus, signs of the zodiac and apostles of Jesus.

He also wrote that in Norse mythology, the god Loki was 13th to arrive at a feast in Valhalla, where he tricked another attendee into killing the god Baldur. Then in Christianity, Judas — the apostle who betrayed Jesus — was the 13th guest at the Last Supper.

But really, he says the reason why the number gets a bad reputation is because of rumors and urban legends. Westernersstill tend to alter their behaviorsonFriday the 13th despite there not being any evidence that the date has negative effects.

Why does Taylor Swift like the number 13 so much?

Let's go "back to December" to when her connection with the number 13 first started — Dec. 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. On a Wednesday, not a Friday.

"I was born on the 13th, I turned 13 on Friday the 13th, my first album went gold in 13 weeks," Swift said during aninterview with MTV in 2009.

Since then, she's always sported the 13. The star used to draw the number with colored eyeliner on her hands during previous tours. Thirteen has also appeared in Swift's social media, with her X handle still listed as@taylorswift13.

In the same MTV interview, Swift told reporters that every time she's won an award, she's "been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter."

More recently, she incorporated the number into Easter eggs for her fans to discover, hiding several 13s in multiple of her music videos. News site The Tennessean has also noted that many of her songs feature a 13-second intro, starting with one of her first hits "Our Song."

Why do Swifties put 13s on their hands?

Fans have taken her lead with writing it on their hands during her concerts. Despite the popstar not donning the 13 anymore during her tours, fans show up to her performances wearing her lucky number and extra friendship bracelet as well.

How is Swift celebrating her birthday this year?

So far, the popstar has kept her actual birthday plans under tight wraps. Last year, Swift celebrated her 33rd birthday in the studio with producer pal, Bleacher's Jack Antonoff.

However, the singer did get an early birthday present when she was named Spotify's top "Global Artist of 2023."

"I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you," the popstar wrote on X. "Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me. We’ve seriously had THE MOST fun this year out there on tour and now this."

As a thank you, Swift gave her fans a gift by putting her song “You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)” on streaming services. It was originally only found on "Midnights" CDs sold during select dates of the Eras Tour.

Her concert film "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" is also available to rent on Apple TV, Vudu, Amazon Prime Video, Xfinity, Google Play and YouTube starting on Thursday, Dec. 13.
